First things first when wedding planning- MAKE A BUDGET. I can tell you from personal experience when you go into wedding planning without a budget and a Pinterest account, it is very easy to end up with some credit card debt. (My husband will also vouch for this lol.) So sit down and decide what you can afford. Is it an elegant oceanside wedding with fancy cocktails? Is it a circus themed wedding with elephant rides? Is it an intimate wedding in a cozy cottage with your closest friends and family? Are you getting married on top of a mountain with just your best friends there? (If so, call me! I love mountaintop weddings!) Every wedding is unique and beautiful; that's half the reason I'm in this industry! Do not be ashamed of what you can and cannot afford. At the end of the day, so long as you are married to your SO, that's all that matters.
Now that the less fun part of planning is out of the way, it's time to figure out your venue. The most crucial part of planning a wedding (in my opinion) is choosing the right venue. There are so many things to take in to account:

However, here are some helpful tips from a photographer for a client to look at when choosing their venue:
Hopefully these tips are something you can take with you when viewing venues. If you have any questions on what else you should be paying attention to, send me an email! I'm always available to help my brides in need. And don't forget- so long as you two say, "I do" that is all that matters!
